Attention in Installation
(Regulations for Maintenance of Valve-control Sealed Lead-acid
Battery) (NP Series)

(1) Fix the NP battery to avoid vibration and concussion. For long-term
use after fixing the NP battery inside the machine, don't use upside
down. In fixing the battery, attention shall be made not to cover
the upper lid with the device for fixing the battery (or the sticking
label), because under the upper lid is the exhaust valve. If the
upper lid is covered, the air generated in the battery cannot flow
out.
(2) As NP battery will generate inflammable gas (hydrogen) in the
process of charging and storing, don't put the battery near the
places with sparks (switch, and fuse etc).
(3) Don't contain the batter with the sealed container and container
with structure that may lead to accumulation of inflammable gas.
In order to avoid accumulation of inflammable gas, please use the
batter containers with upper and lower ventilation holes. If inflammable
gas is accumulated, it will cause damage to the NP batter container
in flaming.
(4) In using the NP battery in the equipment, in order to prevent
temperature increase, it is recommended to install the battery at
the utmost bottom of the machine. In arranging the batteries, keep
the temperature difference between batteries below 3¡æ and give consideration
to the loopholes of the container. In addition, it is necessary
to avoid the contact of batteries with the inner wall or with each
other.
(5) Don't put the batteries near the heating objects (such as transformer).
(6) In using multiple batteries, make sure the wiring between NP
batteries is correct without shortcut.
(7) In connection, don't mistake the poles.
In connecting NP battery to the charger or load, first turn the
line switch to the OFF position. In connecting the 24Ah and above
battery lead alloy terminals, first apply anti-rust agent (Vaseline)
on the terminals, and turn the bolt tight according to the torque
values in the following table. If it is not tight enough, the heavy
current will cause danger of spark. After connection, apply a layer
of anti-rust agent on the bolts, nuts and the contact area of the
connecting conductor.

(8) Number of Parallel Connection
In float charging, the socket joint terminal batteries may be connected
in parallel in three rows at most. The number of bolt-fixing terminals
is not limited, but small number my increase reliability. In addition,
in parallel connection, it is necessary to consider making the connection
conductor between the rows similar to the contact resistance, so
as to balance the charging current of each row. In actual application,
no more than three rows shall be used.
In recycling charging, parallel connection may cause shortened
service life and damage. So avoid parallel application.
(9) In using batteries of different content, different degrees
of newness, different manufacturers, the different characteristics
may cause damage to the batteries and machines, so such a case shall
be avoided.
(10) Avoid putting the NP batteries at the place near to the gasoline,
amyl acetate and other oil products. Contact with the above articles
may cause to cracking of the batteries. In using the brackets made
of synthetic resin in replacement of the iron brackets, don't select
the synthetic resin without plasticizer.
